February 2025 - Grant for Paediatric Critical Care Outreach Team

The Paediatric Critical Care Outreach Team submitted an application for an IPAD they could use in
their work. They are a busy team of lone workers who respond to deteriorating children and their families on the children’s wards, emergency department and any area in the hospital where children receive care. They have to document urgently and in real time when reviewing these children and support nurses. It can be hard for them to find a free computer on which to record their documentation. Martha’s Rule is a mandated initiative to empower patients, their carers, families and advocates to have a route for escalation if they feel their loved one is acutely deteriorating and this team responds to all of these calls. The team were in need of a device where they can access their notes in a timely manner regardless of where they are in the hospital.

An IPAD and carrying case were handed over to Charlotte Robertson Senior Sister Paediatric Critical Outreach Team who was delighted to receive the equipment on behalf of the team.
