August 2026 - Quirk Mobile Projector for Paediatric Emergency Department

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to The Friends of The Royal London Hospital for their incredible generosity and continued support. Thanks to the charity and its wonderful supporters, we were delighted to secure funding for a Qwiek mobile projector for the Paediatric Emergency Department.

The projector has been a real game changer, helping to transform what can often be a frightening experience into one that is calmer, more comforting and engaging. It provides immersive distraction during procedures, helping to reduce anxiety and create a. Ore positive environment for children and young people and their families.

The impact of the projector extends beyond Paediatric Emergency. It is now also being used in the resus area to help distract critically injured and seriously unwell children during treatment, providing comfort and reducing distress at some of the most challenging moments. The projector has also proved invaluable within the Adult Emergency Department where it is being used to settle and calm patients living with dementia, creating a more reassuring and therapeutic environment.

Feedback from staff has been overwhelmingly positive, with the projector already making a meaningful difference to the care we provide every day. It is a wonderful example of how charitable donations can fund innovative equipment that enhances patient experience in ways that go beyond routine healthcare provision.
